At DISCOVER VA, we never miss an opportunity to fish. The young
fellow pictured here seems mighty proud of his big bass. We fish all around the area, fresh water as
well as salt water. Surf casting from the BEACH fishing in the bay on the EASTERN SHORE,
FIRST LANDING STATE PARK, and MUNDEN'S POINT,WEST NECK CREEK,
even PUNGO PONDS!
We never keep our catch, but a couple of the area's best fishing guides, CHIP WATTERS, and JIM CLARK, give lectures and demonstrations on fishing techniques, tricks, favorite spots and of course they would love to arrange a private fishing trip for any camper and his/her family. CHIP is also an accomplished TAXIDERMIST and sometimes agrees to guide us on a tour of his operation. He can make your catch look as real as the bass in the photo! We not only travel with our fishing gear, we always have with us everything we need to do a little crabbing and/or seine netting. So whenever we are near the water there will be lots of excitement and LEARNING! |
