THE OLD
CENTRE OF THE CITY

From all the monuments in the old centre of our city, we
strongly recommend the Curtea Veche Museum (The Old Court Museum), the church
Buna Vestire, Manuc's Inn and the Stavropoleos Church.
Situated in the old centre of Bucharest, the Curtea Veche Museum is worth
visiting.
Here you can see fragments of constructions raised in the ages of Vlad the
Impaler (Dracula), Mircea Ciobanul and Constantin Brancoveanu.
The museum houses a large number of flag-stones, vases, stone cannon balls and
traces of settlements going back to the 4th century, as well as other important
historical vestiges.
Nearby is the church Buna Vestire, Bucharest's oldest building
(1558-1559) kept to our days.
This church is worth visiting indeed!
Another interesting place in this old centre would be
Manuc's Inn, raised by an Armenian merchant in 1808. It became a two star
hotel, with a bar and restaurant. It has a beautiful courtyard.
The Stavropoleos Church, a small gem of the Brancovan
style built in 1724 by a Greek monk is also located in this area.
The exterior gallery of this church was carved
in stone.
