Prayer For The Sick And The Dying


Merciful and loving Lord Jesus,
you became poor to be near to us.
In our need and in your passion
and death on the Cross
you experienced every form of
rejection and physical suffering.

Lord, look with compassion on
our brothers and sisters who are sick,
especially the dying.
Be with them during their lonely nights
and pain-filled days.

May they experience your love
through our care
and may we encounter you in each of them.

Saint John, companion of the dying, pray for us.
