Goal Statement:
The purpose of this
teaching portfolio is to demonstrate my understandings and abilities related to
each of the four performance domains of the K-12 World
Languages Teacher Education Performance Framework.
Domain C: Reflection on
and Assessment of Teaching
C1.
Teacher candidates
will monitor and adjust instructional strategies during teaching based
on assessment evidence of student learning and development.
Evidence:
During this Lesson Plan, I was hoping
to incorporate culture by showing a recording of a French news program
for the last few minutes of class. This had worked well in my
other classes, however this French I class quickly lost interest.
I therefore adjusted my plan and quickly engaged the students again into
a more instructional and assessment orientated activity and had the
students practice numbers, days of the week, and 'avoir' until the end
of class.
C2.
Teacher candidates
will critically analyze own effectiveness in promoting learning and
development.
Evidence:
Inquiry 3 shows an analysis of student
assessment data from a lesson implemented November 8, 2004. In
this project, I have critically evaluated my effectiveness in the
students' learning and development.
C3.
Teacher candidates
will inquire systematically into their practice in order to improve
curriculum and instruction for all learners.
Evidence:
Reflections -
particularly in answering the question "What improvements will I make to
be more effective with this class?" I have included a few examples of my
answers here.
Evidence:
Inquiry 5 represents my
reflections written at the end of the pre-service teaching experience.
I focused on my strengths, limitations and conflicts a teacher and also
ways that I could improve my teaching for all learners.
