What is Inspiration?
Inspiration.inc developed a visual learning tool that allows for students to strengthen their critical thinking skills while creating educational diagrams and outlines. With two levels of software available (Inspiration for older students and Kidspiration for younger students), all age groups can learn new skills.
Inspiration's diagram and outline environments work together. If a student builds an outline first, he or she can then click on diagram and see how the diagram has progressed . Or, if a student is more visual, he or she might build the diagram first, and then click on outline to see how the outline has developed.
Inspiration and Kidspiration can be used as a brainstorming tool. Its tools connect one thought to the other by creating an essential question or thought and then linking it to another by the use of circles or squares and other graphics. This visual learning tool can also be used to plan, organize, outline, diagram, and map concepts creatively because it also includes color, the ability to insert graphics and photos, and the ability to hyperlink to websites that are relevant.
