We left after work on Friday the 15th of September to enjoy our first trip to the Northwest. We arrived in Seattle on Sunday to visit our friend Chris, and family, Shon and Cambria.

After a whirlwind tour of Seattle, given by our friend Chris, (of BearfootBackPacker.com)
we headed to Vancouver BC to catch a ferry to Vancouver Island.

From Port Alberni we loaded our gear on the Francis Barkley  and took a 3 hour trip to Barkley Sound on the western part of the Island. We launched our canoes and explored the 5mile by 7 mile area of ocean and islands for 6 days.
