His mother, Frigg, went everywhere on Earth and asked all things not to harm her son. They all gave oaths that they would not. After this oath, all the Gods felt safer and began to throw things at Balder for fun since nothing would harm him. Loki was not amused that Balder was so immune to this and went to Frigg disguised as an old woman and gained her trust. Frigg told him that the only thing she had not gotten an oath from was a shoot of Mistletoe. Loki went and got this shoot of Mistletoe and took it to the Gods who were still amusing themselves by throwing things at him. Loki gave it to the blind God, Hod(Anther of Odin's Sons), and guided it towards Balder. It struck him, and he fell dead to the ground. The God's sent Hermod to Hel to retrieve Balder.
