FAQ's

Q. What is Wicca?

A. Wicca is a Pagan/Earth-based Spirituality. There are many different Wiccan Traditions, such as Alexandrian, British, Celtic, Caledonii, Ceremonial, Dianic, Eclectic, Hereditary, Gardnerian, Kitchen Witch, Pictish, Saex-Wica, Solitary, Strega, Teutonic, Faery Wicca, Shamanistic Wicca, and Pow-Wow. A few basic descriptions? A Solitary Witch is one who practices alone. They may have been a member of a coven previously or may be in the future. (A Coven is a group of Wiccans/Witches who practice rituals, Sabbats or Esbats together.) An Eclectic Witch may be Solitary or a member of a Coven. Eclectic Witches are as the word is defined, Eclectic. They take bits and pieces(or sometimes chunks) of different traditions and use them in their own practice. They use whatever seems to work for them, and applies best to their beliefs.

Q. What are Sabbats, Esbats, and rituals?

A. There are eight Sabbats, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas, Mabon, and Samhain. These are Wiccan Celebrations and festivals. An Esbat is a ritual that usually occurs during a full moon, and a ritual is a Wiccan Ceremony. Spells are also called rituals.

A. The Neo-Pagan groups consist of the newer(hence the Neo in Pagan) Pagan Spirituality.

Q. Are Wiccan’s Pagans too?

A. For the most part....Yes. But not all Pagan’s are wiccan. Some Wiccans will also say that they are not Pagan, as some do believe in and actively pursue God, Jehovah, Jesus & or the Holy Spirit, I don't really understand how this works, but who am I to say it doesn't.

Q. Do you have to have a teacher or guide to learn or become a Witch/Wiccan?

A. No. I learned completely on my own. I read books, articles, and talked to other Pagans & Wiccans.

Q. Are male Witches Warlocks & Wizards?

A. No, male witches are Witches, just the same as female witches, with the exception of gender ofcourse.

Q. What kind of people are Wiccans?

A. All kinds of people. Just like all kinds of people are Christians.

Q. Is it possible for two totally different religions to be mixed togeather to suit my needs?

A. I think so, yes. If it works for you. I think it would be really confusing, and you'd probally lean more towards one or the other just to be able to live with it without one conflicting with the other. I'm not so sure, and I'm not really one to answer this question, this is one you have to answer, because you are the only one who knows what you need, and knows if you can make this work for you.
