The members of a Strike Force unit are each given a military rank from Major down to lieutenant and are schooled in military protocol and hone their specialties to razor edge.
On the job , SFO units hunt down mortal and supernatural monsters alike. Often engaging Yakuza or Tongs, smuggling rings and white slavers, as often as hungry dead. This garners respect and support for their "out of jursidiction" activities in other countries where shen are taken only as mythology or legend.It also helps with any additional funding that they may seek for the government of Japan.
The over all philosophy of Strike Force Zero is one of zero tolerance for Shen of any kind. They are not viewed by Okamoto as living breathing creatures with the right to exist or a part in the grand scheme of things. He sees them all as monsters who have preyed upon humanity for centuries. It is into this belief that ALL SFO are indoctrinated. Of course they are not fools, they do study shen at large to find their habits and weaknesses. They also capture many alive for closer study and sometimes disection if need be. It should also be noted that they view Shinta (Mages) with special hatred. Shinta are seen as betraying humanity to the shen and therefore worse than any montser.
Above all is held the notion that the SFO does all that it does to protect humanity. This is the place that the SFO members draw their greatest motivation. The thought that they put down those things that threaten humanity most. And with that as their cause they know no mercy for any shen caught in their sights. For nothing must sway them from their task, lest the whole of humanity suffer. |
