This group is purchasing the top line of tiles on the Long Wall to form a time continuum. This is designed to give anchor dates which will place the Links tiles below in historical context. The Link line will commence with the foundation of the old church of St. Martin, uncle of St. Patrick (the first known place of worship) and extend to the year 2000 and the start of the Desertmartin Developments/I.F.I project. Dates of significance to the area will be interspersed with family names which appear at that time. Some names of note in the area include the early clans such as O'Hagan and O'Flynn, and 17th century arrivals such as Trainor, Wallace, McGuckin and Otterson. These will be collected as far as possible from a combination of old documents and oral history. Watch this space for further details or to check if your surname gets a mention in the timeline.
