Desertmartin Community Developments Ltd was formed in the year 2000. It was funded by the International Fund for Ireland who, with the support of Magherafelt District Council, have been most helpful in turning a mid-village derelict building into shops, flats and work units. Completion date is October 2001.

Attached to this is the unique Long Wall project which will be of particular interest to genealogists and historians and of vital concern to anyone wanting to reestablish long-lasting links with here or anywhere else in Northern Ireland.
