Kenin Wallace Darnell is 35. She was born in Santa Rosa, CA. Her father is a veterinarian, and her mother stayed at home to raise her and her sister Gael, and is now a receptionist at a doctor's office. Gael, who is two years older than Kenin, is an elementary teacher in Petaluma, married with two girls.

Kenin's childhood was happy -- typical middle class. She never got onto any major trouble and still has a good relationship with her family. She started medical school at UC Davis right out of high school, then worked at UCD Medical Center. She moved to the Sacramento area. She grew up around animals, and was riding horses since she was old enough to walk. At the stables where she was boarding her horse, she met Will Darnell. He was a horse trainer, and it was almost love at first sight. He had cystic fibrosis, but they decided to get married despite that. She was 28 and he was 26. He died three years later. Kenin has bittersweet memories of him, and does not regret her decision to marry. They did not have children.

Kenin moved to the Tucson area, where she still works at the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center. There is a small part-time clinic in 4C, and the regular doctor recently retired. Kenin is going to run that, and has just bought a small ranchette near town. She has two horses, nine cats and an big old mutt dog. She drives an Explorer and has an old beat-up International truck that belonged to Will. Kenin is happy with her life. She enjoys being alone as much as being around people. She is generally happy and outgoing and has a comme si, comme sa attitude. She is a pack-rat. She likes to travel and hike and has been to Britain and France recently. While she doesn't have particular hobbies, she enjoys riding, and finds it a good way to blow off stress. She participates occasionally in competitive trail rides. She is an instructor for CPR, ACLS(advanced cardiac life support) and PALS (pediatric advanced life support). She has no immediate goals, as her life is comfortable right now and she has planned for her future.
