Codec Packs
The K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools.
Codec is short for Compressor-decompressor. Codecs are
needed for encoding and decoding (playing) audio and video. The very
user-friendly installation is fully customizable, which means that
you can install only those components that you want.

Real Alternative is a free RealAudio and
RealMedia player based on the open source Helix codec.
With Real Alternative installed, River
Past Audio Converter can convert from RealAudio audio
files, and extract audio from RealMedia video files.
Video Cleaner, Video Perspective, and Video Slice can
accept RealMedia files as input.

Lame
Lame is an open source MP3 encoder.
There are multiple versions of the LAME encoder.
- LAME ACM - The encoder is installed as a system
driver. DO NOT use this build. It is reliable and
doesn't work on most systems.
- LAME DirectShow Filter - River Past software
does not utilize LAME DS Filter.
- lame_enc.dll - This is the traditional codec. It
works excellently. Once installed, you need to
inform River Past software about its location.

ffdShow Codecs
ffdShow is a DivX and XviD compatible
decoder codec. It is actually more reliable than the
official DivX and XviD codecs for decoding. Because of
that, we recommend using ffdShow with Video Cleaner,
Video Perspective, and Video Slices to convert video
from DivX or XviD to other formats.

River Past Audio Converter and Web Slides to accept AC-3
audio or VOB video which contains AC-3 audio. It is also
