Groom's cakes were once only a "Southern" tradition, but now they are gaining popularity everywhere. They are traditionally chocolate, or they can be decorated with a nod to the Groom's hobbies or interests.

Groom's cakes can be served as the dessert at the rehersal dinner or as an alternative cake option to the wedding cake at the reception. Some even choose to have the groom's cake cut and boxed for the guests to take home as wedding favors.

According to legend, if a single woman slept with a slice of groom's cake under her pillow, she would dream about her future husband!
