The Danish Coats of Arms

Denmark has two coats of arms: the National Coat of Arms and the Royal Coat of Arms. The National Coat of Arms, in accordance with Danish law since 1959, but which can be traced back to King Waldemar I the Great (1131-1182), shows the Danish royal crown mounted atop a banner encrusted with three lions facing to the left, and nine heart shapes.
