Plot to Destroy the Saiya-Jin

Chapter 2

The Trouble Has Just Begun

Janin's handheld began to beep. Janin took it out of his pocket.

"Darn it. Someone's going to my ship," Janin muttered. The handheld showed two blips flying toward his spacecraft. "Well let's make sure my guests get a proper welcome when they arrive." Then Janin pushed some buttons on his handheld.

Vegeta and Trunks arrived at the red ship. The hatches on the ship opened revealing six machine guns. Vegeta landed on the ground while Trunks continued to stay aloft.

"Hey Dad," Trunks said looking at the machine guns. "This looks just like one of the spaceships from those Sci-Fi Animes."

One of the guns began firing and a stream of bullets flying toward Trunks. Trunks moved out of the way and shot a ki blast at the machine gun. The machine gun exploded. "Man that was too close," Trunks shouted. Then the other five machine guns started firing at Trunks. Trunks managed to dodge each one. With two more ki blasts, Trunks destroying two more machine guns. Then Trunks angled to the right and threw three more beams destroying the rest. Suddenly, a noise came from the ship and something that looked like a huge camera came out of the top of the vessel. "Hey Dad," Trunks yelled, "I think he wants to take our picture." Trunks was about to fly over to his father when there was a huge flash that blinded the two Z-Fighters.

"Good. The beam cannon is at one hundred percent" Janin said as he looked at his handheld. "Crud. The two of them are too far apart. I can only hit one." He looked at his handheld to see which one had the higher power level. Then he send instructions to the beam cannon to hit the higher power level.

"Blast it, I can't see," Vegeta yelled. Another grinding noise came from the alien vessel. A hatch above the door opened and a huge cannon came out. A white light formed inside the cannon, shot out and went flying at Vegeta. The beam hit Vegeta in the chest, cracking his armor and causing him to lose his balance.

"Dad, are you okay," Trunks yelled as he got his vision back.

"I'm fine, boy," Vegeta replied as he stood up. He formed a ki beam and shot it at the beam cannon. The beam cannon exploded, taking a good portion of the ship with it.

"Man, if there was someone in there they're dead now," Trunks said. Trunks started toward the ship.

"Stay where you are, Trunks," Vegeta said. "There may be a few more surprises waiting for us."

Trunks stopped and held his position. He looked the ship over carefully, trying to see if there was any movement. His attention was drawn back to the pile of debris left by the beam cannon's explosion. As Trunks and Vegeta watched, the rubble began to move. There was an explosion from behind the rubble. In the opening that formed, three robots appeared and walked out of the ship.

"Well, looks like our visitor is going all out for us," Vegeta said looking at his new opponents. One of the robots shot a small laser blast at Vegeta, cutting off a piece of his damaged armor. "Man, that's pretty good for a tin can," Vegeta said with smirk.

"Oh crap!!!" Trunks shouted as another robot shot a laser beam at him. Trunks dodged avoid the shot. "All right take this!" Trunks yelled as he flew at the robot, weaving back and forth to avoid the robot's attack. Trunks felt the laser cut his face as he flew at it. He could feel his own warm blood roll down his cheek. Closing fast, Trunks punched the robot in the face, knocking its head off. Trunks landed, wiped the blood off his face and blasted the robot's rolling head.

"What are you doing waiting for? An invitation?" Vegeta shouted to one of the robots. One robot was in front of Vegeta and the other was behind him. Both shot their lasers at the same time. Vegeta flew into the air just before the lasers hit him. Each robot made a direct hit on his partner, causing them to explode. "Well, that was easy," Vegeta said floating in the air. "Well Trunks, why don't we check out the ship now?"

"Alright," Trunks replied. The two warriors headed toward the opening left by the alien robots who lay useless on the ground.

The black ship had arrived at Earth and had moved into orbit around the planet. Kain had turned the controls over to the ship's computer for the moment. He was standing by the window on the command deck watching the planet below. "Well, it's time to see what these fighters are made of," Kain said to himself. "I'd better suppress my power level before I land." Out loud he said, "Computer, scan the planet and locate the five highest power levels. Oh, and computer, while you're at it, locate the other vessel that landed before us."

Kain pressed some buttons on the ship's control panel. A door on the back wall opened and Kain walked in to get his supplies. When he was done, he returned to the command deck and sat in the captain's chair. "What the hell is taking that woman so long. I'm ready to land." He punched a button on his chair to open up a com link. "Woman, get down here now," he shouted.

"I'm coming you jerk," Sakura muttered as she walked down the hall. Sakura walk into the command room. The scouter and blaster were hidden in her jacket. She moved quickly to the pilot's seat and buckled herself in.

Kain said, "Computer, if you have you located the targets, display them on the screen." The window on the command deck faded out and was replaced by a map of the surface below. Five medium green dots and one large red one appeared on the screen. Two of the green dots were so close to the red dot they seemed to be joined together. Two more green dots were near but not as close to the red dot that marked Janin's ship. "Well, it looks like the new arrival has attracted some attention. Okay, woman, plot our landing course. I want to get near Janin's location but far enough away so he won't detect us.

"Yes, captain," Sakura replied as she punched the commands into the pilot's console.

In a few moments, the black ship came to a soft landing behind a small cluster of trees. Kain and Sakura left the ship. After they walked a good distance away from the ship, Kain turned to Sakura and said, "Well, I've kept my part of the bargain. I don't know what you want on this mud ball, but you're on your own from here. With that Kain flew off toward the red ship. When he was far enough away, Sakura took out her scouter. After finding the two power levels in the city near the red ship, she flew off.

"Find anything?" Krillin asked Gohan as they met up after searching the north side of the city.

"No, nothing. What about you," Gohan asked.

"Same here. No sign of anyone, or anything, unusual," Krillin replied.

"Well, let's go check that section again just to be sure," Gohan said. Just then Krillin and Gohan sensed a power level approaching them from the left.

"Do you think that's the person were looking for," Krillin asked as he looked at Gohan.

"No. This one's different and it's much smaller," Gohan said. "We'd better check it out. Since it's close by we can walk. That way we can suppress our power level and surprise them."

"Sure," Krillin replied. The two heroes started walking down the street, trying to look as ordinary as possible.

"Darn it. The scouter said they were here," Sakura said to herself as she landed in the city. She looked around but couldn't find anyone who looked like the men in the wanted poster. Sakura starting walking down the street. After searching for about 10 minutes, she found a bench and sat down.

"Where are they," she said. She was feeling warm. "For a planet with such a little sun, it sure gets hot," she thought as she took off her jacket. As she sat there, she noted the way the Earthmen reacted to her. She watched some guy drooling as he walked by. Sakura decided to have some fun so she waved at him. The man got a stupid look on his face and waved back. He kept walking and waving until he walked into a lamppost. Sakura just sat there and laughed as the man got back on his feet and hurriedly walked away.

Sakura sat there for another 10 minutes until she noted a person who almost looked like Goku. There was a shorter man with him. He looked like the man called Krillin, except he had a mop of black hair and his picture showed that he was bald. "Hmm, Goku looks younger in person and he's a lot better looking than his picture. It may not be them, but I might as well go over and introduce myself," Sakura thought. She tied her jacket around her waist, brushed her hair out of the face and started walking toward the pair.

"Hey, Krillin, don't look now but I think the person we're looking for is coming over," Gohan said.

"You mean that really gorgeous girl that's walking this way," Krillin said in a low voice.

"Yup, that's her alright," Gohan said softly. "It's definitely the power level we've been looking for."

Sakura saw the two men talking in low voices as she walked over to them. "Hi," Sakura said as she got closer.

     "Hi," Gohan and Krillin replied.

"I'm new to this place," Sakura said, "and I'm looking for some friends of mine. Do either of you happened to know two men named Goku and Krillin?"

Just as Sukura finished, Gohan saw the scouter in her hand. "Where did you get that scouter from," Gohan asked.

"So you know what a scouter is. Okay, I'll tell you what. If you tell me your names, I'll tell you my name and why I'm here," Sakura said.

"I don't like the sound of this, bro," Krillin said.

"It's okay, but may be we should talk about this in a less conspicuous location," Gohan said. "Let's go over to that park over there."

"Sure," Sukura said. The three crossed the street and entered the park. They found a quiet area near a lake.

"Okay," Gohan said. "My name is Gohan and my friend here is Krillin."

"But Gohan's just a kid," Sakura said. "You must be Goku."

"No," Gohan replied. "Goku is my father. Now that we've introduced ourselves, who are you and why are you looking for my dad?"

"My name is Sakura," the young woman replied. "I came to Earth with a bounty hunter named Kain." She showed Gohan and Krillin the pictures from their wanted posters. "Kain plans to kill you, Gohan, along with Goku, Krillin, Vegeta, and Piccolo."

"Well, it looks like someone was too lazy to update our profiles," Krillin said after looking at the pictures. "Say, why is this Kain guy looking for us anyway?"

"For the reward money," Sakura said. "Kain is a bounty hunter."

"What reward money," Gohan asked. "Who's giving away this reward money and for what crime?"

"You two do remember an alien called Freeza. Well, he has a brother named Cooler and Cooler is the one who put up the reward," Sakura replied.

"Well that explains the dorky pictures," Krillin said. "Well, there's a small problem with this guy Kain's plan. Piccolo's dead.

"Hey, if you work for this Kain, why are you telling us all this," Gohan asked.

"Okay, let me explain," Sakura said. "Three years after you guys beat Freeza, Freeza's men were still controlling my planet. They just refused to believe their great leader was dead. My friends and I started a revolution against them. Everything was going well until Cooler arrived. He brought his army with him and combined with Freeza's old troops, they completely overpowered ours. Most of our forces were destroyed but there were still a few of us left. We went to a small planet that was not worthy of the great Cooler's notice. Then we heard about the reward. We knew that all the bounty hunters around would be out for the money. Through our underground contacts, I heard this guy Kain was one of the best and he was out for the reward. He's also one of the few bounty hunters who takes on a pilot to fly his ship. We made sure his pilot was unfit for duty and I applied for the job. So what it basically comes down to is that I came here to find you guys in the hopes that you would help us beat Cooler."

"Man, that's terrible," Gohan said. "I thought after Freeza was gone, our problems would be over."

"Damn, how many relatives does Freeza have," Krillin said angrily clenching his fist. "Umm, could you give Gohan and me a minute to talk about all of this?"

"Sure," Sakura replied. She walked around the edge of the lake to give Gohan and Krillin a chance to talk.

"Well, what should we do," Gohan asked Krillin.

"I think we should help her," Krillin replied. "It's not often we get to help a beautiful lady in trouble."

"But Krillin, we barely know her," Gohan argued, "and anyway, I think we should discuss this with my dad and the others before we agree to do anything."

"You're probably right," Krillin said. "If what she said is true, we have enough problems to deal with here on Earth."

"Well, I'll go and explain to her what we plan to do," Gohan said. "Hey, Sakura," Gohan said as he went to over to her.

"So what did you decide," Sakura asked.

"Well, Krillin and I discussed what you told us and we can't say yes until we discuss it with the others," Gohan replied. "Our first priority is to find those bounty hunters. Krillin and I have one more section to re-check. Why don't you come with us? When we're done, I'll take you to meet my dad and the others. We'll figure out what we're going to do from there."

Sakura didn't look happy, but she agreed.

Janin was now walking down a small country road. It was warm and even though it was shaded by trees, Janin was still hot. He was get impatient.

"Man, there has got to be a quicker way to get there than walking," he muttered to himself as he kicked a small rock to pieces. At this rate, I won't find them until I'm 104 years old. Kain has probably landed by now and is right behind me." Just then Janin heard a loud noise and saw a cloud of dust coming toward him. In a few moments, a vehicle appeared in front of the dust. "Hey, I guess this planet isn't as primitive as I thought. I can definitely get there faster in that thing." Janin stepped out into the center of the road planning to block the car's path.

"Get out of the road, you idiot," the guy in the car yelled.

"Stop," Janin said as he shot a small beam at side of the road in front of the car.

The driver came to an abrupt stop and got out of the car. "Okay, why don't you take the car and I'll just be on my way," the guy said. Then the man turned around and headed into the trees.

Janin approached the vehicle. Lucky the driver had left the door open so he didn't have to figure out how to get into the machine. It was still making noise so he assumed it was still working. "Now how the heck do I make this thing go," he wondered. After a few false starts, Janin figured out how to make the car go forward, how to make it stop and how to turn. He also found the turn signal and wipers, but they seemed to serve no purpose that he could see. There were some loud noises and voices coming from somewhere inside the machine. Janin turned a few knobs and pushed a few buttons, but he couldn't make the sounds go away. "Well, I can live with a little noise as long as I'm not walking. Next time, I'll try to take an aircar with me." With that thought, Janin turned the car around and headed down the road.

Back at Janin's ship, Vegeta and Trunks finished their search inside. They found nothing that told them who, or what, arrived in the ship.

"Hey Dad, I think it's about time to head back to Dende's," Trunks said.

"Okay, you head back and tell the others what we found. I'm going to take a quick look around the area," Vegeta replied.

"Right," Trunks said. "Don't take too long." With a burst of energy, Trunks flew up and headed to Dende's.

"You haven't escaped me yet, whoever you are," Vegeta said angrily. "Coward, leaving your ship to do your fighting. Well, just you wait. When I find you, you'll have nothing to hide behind and you'll face the true power of a Saiya-jin." A blue white aura formed around Vegeta and in a second he flew off to start his search.

"Man, what's taking them so long," Goten moaned as he waited at the Lookout. "And where's that other force," Goten thought.

"Hey Dende, when was that second force suppose to land," Goku asked.

"It was suppose to land two hours ago, Dende said, "but the power level suddenly disappeared right before that. Maybe he can also hide his power level."

"Why would he hide it before he landed," Goten asked.

"So we wouldn't know he arrived," Goku answered. "That means he could be anywhere and we would never know."

Janin had been driving for about 2 hours. Luckily the road was empty because Janin wasn't a very good driver. He kept driving on and off the road, coming to sudden stops, followed by rapid acceleration. He had just gotten the car back on the road, when his scouter went off. It was a high power level.

"This could be one of the people I'm looking for," Janin said as he turned the car around in the direction indicated by the scouter.

Trunks was on his way to Dende's when he saw a car driving all over the road.

"Man, there's something wrong with that driver down there," Trunks said. "I better go down and see if they need help." Trunks landed in the road ahead of the car. "They're going to kill someone if they keep driving like that," he thought. He was just about to wave at the driver when the car came to a sudden, screeching halt. A tall, brown-haired man without a shirt got out of the car and walked toward Trunks. He had a strange device over one eye.

     "Who are you," Janin asked.

"I'm Trunks Briefs. Why do you want to know?" Trunks replied.

"It's not important. I'm looking for someone and I thought maybe I found them," Janin replied, "but I can see I was wrong." Janin turned around and headed back to the car.

"This could be the man we're looking for," Trunks thought to himself. "Hey, mister, who are you looking for? Maybe I know them," Trunks shouted.

Janin turned around and looked at Trunks through narrowed eyes. The boy was strong. It would make sense that he would know other fighters. "Okay, boy, I'm looking for five men. Their names are Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo," Janin said. "Ever heard of them?"

"Hey, then you're the owner of that ship back there," Trunks said angrily. "What the heck do you want with my dad and the others?"

Janin smiled. "One of them is your dad? Well, I'm not surprised." Janin laughed. "I like your style, boy, and just because of that, I'll give you an answer. I plan on killing them so I can get some reward money."

"You won't lay a hand on them," Trunks shouted as he got into a fighting position. "I'm going to stop you."

Janin suppressed a laugh. "Well, you're going to try," he said. Janin assumed his fighting position. "Well let's get started then," he replied.

"I can't sense his power level," Trunks thought. "He must be hiding it. Oh man, I hope I can hold him off until Dad or the others get here." With that thought, Trunks flew at Janin and tried to punch him but Janin was too quick and dodged easily. Trunks continued to punch at Janin and Janin continued to dodge every blow.

"Take this," Janin yelled as he threw a punch in Trunks's face. Trunks flew back and landed on the ground, leaving a long rut in the dirt before he came to a stop. A cloud of dust blocked Trunks from Janin's view. "Well, that was easy," Janin said as he turned back to the car. He had just started to walk back when he heard the boy's voice.

"Hey mister, leaving so soon," Trunks said as he wiped some blood from his lip. Janin turned around. With a shout, Trunks turned Super Saiya-Jin.

The scouter over Janin's eye suddenly went berserk. Janin was surprised. The numbers began to climb rapidly. Janin quickly pressed the button to turn the device off. "Can't have this exploding on me," he thought. "Is this a Super Saiya-Jin or do Earthlings have the ability to transform." Janin assumed his fighting stance once again. "Well, kid, you're not the only one with some surprises. You'll find out I'm just getting warmed up too." With that, Janin gave a shout and a red aura suddenly surrounded his body.

"Dad, hurry up," Trunks thought as he prepared himself for his opponent's attack.
