Plot to Destroy the Saiya-Jin

Chapter 1

A New Threat

This story takes place after a little after the Boo Saga.

It was early morning at the Son house and Goku was getting out of bed. Goku walked into the kitchen where Chi-Chi was making breakfast and his two sons were talking.

"Is breakfast almost ready Chi-Chi," Goku asked holding his stomach.

"It'll be done in 20 minutes," Chi-Chi replied. "So why don't you and the boys go catch some fish for lunch."

"Sure. Come on boys," Goku said. Goten and Gohan got up from their chairs and left with Goku to go fishing.

Somewhere in space, a red spaceship was heading straight for the Earth. A tall, young man with short, uncombed brown hair piloted the ship. There was a scouter on his left eye. He wasn't wearing a shirt and it was apparent from his powerful build that he would be a strong opponent for any fighter. He had a sword over his back and two hunting knifes on his belt that held up his black, torn pants.

"This mission might be a challenge," the young man said to himself. "If they beat Freeza, they must be powerful."

He looked over the wanted posters on his handheld computer and read the names of the men he must kill to get the reward: Prince Vegeta, Son Goku, Son Gohan, Krillin the Earthman, and Piccolo the Namek.

"Funny," he thought to himself. "They don't look so tough. In fact, two of them look like children. I guess Freeza wasn't as powerful as everyone thought."

An unemotional female voice chimed over ship's com system. "Janin, we have just entered the solar system for our destination. We will be slowing down for landing. We should be arriving in approximately thirty-seven point five kaylars."

Janin flipped the handheld's case shut and returned it to the pouch on his belt. "Computer, I'm going into my cabin to rest. Wake me when we're in orbit around the planet."

Back at the Son's, the men had returned from fishing and everyone was at the table eating breakfast and planning their day.

"So Goten what are you going to do today," Goku asked, mouth full of food as usual.

"I'm going over to Trunk's house," Goten replied. "He just got a new video game and we're going to play it together."

"Well, make sure that's all you boys do," Chi-Chi said sternly. "I don't want you coming home looking the way you did the last time. That was a brand new set of clothes you had on and they were ripped to shreds. I know boys will be boys, but I think the two of you can find some other way to entertain yourself besides fighting."

"Ah, Mom, we weren't really fighting," Goten said. "We were training in Trunks's Dad's gravity room. It was really cool. And then we went into the woods and ran into some dinosaurs..." Goten stopped as Chi-Chi raised her finger. He looked down at the table and said quietly, "Okay Mom, I'll just play video games. No fighting."

"That's my boy," said Chi-Chi proudly.

Goku was just about to say something when he heard someone calling him telepathically. Gohan sat up too. It was Dende, the young Namek who succeeded Kame as Earth's guardian.

"Gohan, Goku, get your friends and come to the Lookout. The Earth is in danger," Dende said.

"Right Dende," Goku said both mentally and out loud. "Chi-Chi, I want you to call Bulma and have her send Vegeta and Trunks to the Lookout. Then either you or Bulma call Krillin. Come on boys, it looks like we have work to do."

"Goku, what's going on," Chi-Chi shouted as the three fighters ran out the door.

"I don't know yet," Goku replied. "All I know is Dende thinks he Earth might be in danger and he asked me and Gohan to assembly everyone at the Lookout. Then the three fighters flew out of sight and Chi-Chi went to call Bulma's house.

At Capsule Corps, it was starting out like any other day Vegeta and Trunks were training in the gravity chamber and Bulma was working on enhancing one of the spaceship built by her company. The phone rang and Bulma answered it.

     "Hello, Capsule Corporation," Bulma said.

"Bulma, it's Chi-Chi," an excited voice shouted over the phone. "Goku just got an urgent message from Dende. Tell Vegeta and Trunks to go to the Lookout. Can you call Krillin and tell him," Chi-Chi asked.

"Do you know what's wrong," Bulma asked.

"No," Chi-Chi said. "All Goku said was the Earth was in danger."

"Oh no," Bulma gasped. "Okay, Chi-Chi. I'll tell Vegeta and Trunks and then get in touch with Krillin. I'll call you later." Bulma hung up the phone, walked over to the gravity room and press the com link button. "Vegeta," Bulma said loudly to get her husband's attention.

"What do you want woman," Vegeta replied brusquely. "You know I don't want to be interrupted when Trunks and I are training."

"Listen, Vegeta," Bulma replied just as sternly. "Chi-Chi just called and she told me to have you two go to Dende's. The Earth is in some kind of danger. Goku, Gohan and Goten are already on their way so you two better get moving. I'll get out your uniforms unless you two would like to go in your sweatpants."

"We'll be right there," Vegeta said. "All right boy. Do you think you're up to it?"

"If Goten is ready, then I'm ready, Dad," Trunks replied eagerly.

"That's my son," Vegeta thought proudly as he and Trunks left the training room.

As Vegeta and Trunks left for Dende's, Bulma went to call Krillin.

Goku and his two sons arrived at the Lookout. Dende, the Earth's current guardian and friend from their saga on Namek, was there to greet them.

"Hi Dende," Gohan said as he landed.

"Hi, Gohan," Dende replied. "Thank you all for coming so quickly. Did you send for the others?"

"Yes," Goku replied. "Can you tell me what the problem is?"

"Let's wait for the others," Dende said. "I'll explain it to you all at once."

About ten minutes later, Vegeta and Trunks arrived. Krillin got there a few minutes later.

"Now that everyone's here, I'll explain what's the matter," Dende said seriously. "This morning I felt a huge power level coming to the Earth. I'm not sure if it's friend or foe. About an hour ago, I felt another stronger power heading this way."

"When will they be landing," Gohan asked.

"At the rate I sense these powers traveling, the first one should land in about an hour and the second a little after," Dende said.

"Well, that doesn't give us much time to prepare," Krillin said.

"Where's the first person going to land, Namek boy," Vegeta growled.

"Hey, Vegeta, show Dende a little respect," Krillin yelled. "He is the guardian of Earth. How the heck is he suppose to know. He's not a psychic."

"Why don't you just shut up, Earthman," Vegeta shouted.

"Why don't you make me," Krillin shouted back.

     "Alright, let's do," Vegeta shouted.

Gohan stepped in between the two would-be combatants. "Hey, let's save it for later. We'll need our full strength if these powers turn out to be enemies. The two of you fighting isn't going to solve anything," Gohan said.

Krillin looked down at this feet. "Sorry, Gohan. You're right. I guess I wasn't thinking."

Vegeta just growled and looked away.

Back on the red ship, Janin was making his final preparations while waiting for the ship to land on Earth. Just as he was going to look over the wanted poster again, the computer's voice interrupted him.

"Warning, warning" the voice said calmly. "There is another vessel approaching our destination. It is sixty-eight point nine kaylars behind us."

Janin walked over to the ship's instrument panel. "Computer, show me the other ship." The diagnostics on the screen before him disappeared, replaced by a picture of space. In the center was a sleek, black vessel with a huge beam cannon on the side.

Janin slammed his fist on the console. "Crud, it's Kain," Janin muttered. Kain was a rival bounty hunter and one of the best. "I guess I'm not the only one going after these guys," Janin said to himself. A smile spread across his face. "Well, this is going to be a little more interesting then I originally thought. A little competition should sweeten the game. All right Kain, come and get it, but let me warn you. I'm going to find our targets first."

On the black ship, Kain was standing behind the pilot's seat. He was a tall man with short, neat black hair and had a scouter over his right eye. He wore a black shirt with black pants and had an expensive looking pair of black boots. On his belt, he had a hunting knife and a blaster.

"Woman, I'll take over," Kain said to the young pilot of the spaceship. The young woman was tall with long black hair, which she left down. She was wearing a white t-shirt that was covered by a black jacket. She wore black pants and knee-high black boots.

"Sure, take it," the young girl said as she got out of the seat. "If you don't need me any more, I'm going back to my cabin." Kain just grunted. "I'll take that as a yes," she said as she left the command deck.

The pilot walked down the short hallway outside and entered the third door on her left. As she walked into the room, she shot a ki beam at the floor. A small crack appeared where the beam hit. She went over to the small dresser in the corner of the room and opened the top drawer. She felt under the small pile of clothes and pulled out two items she had stolen from Kain a month ago: a blaster and a scouter. Taking the two items in hand, she headed across the room and lay down on the bed. She put the scouter down next to her head and started to check the blaster one more time.

"How did I get myself into this," the young girl asked herself. "At least I'm almost to Earth. Don't worry guys. Once I get to Earth, I'll find the fighters who killed Freeza and when they help me finish off Kain, I'll bring them back and have them help us." She was laying there thinking of how she would find the Earth fighters and what she would tell them to convince them to help her when she heard Kain yelling over the com system "Woman get down here."

"I have a name you know and it wouldn't kill you to call me by it," she shouted as got out of bed. She quickly put the blaster and scouter back in their hiding place before she went to see what Kain wanted. "We better get to Earth soon or I might try to take that jerk out myself," she muttered as she walked down the hall. Entering the control room, she said sarcastically "I heard you bellow. What do you want, your majesty?"

"Where's that handheld I had," Kain replied ignoring the tone in her voice.

The young girl reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out the device. "Here, take it," she said handing the device to Kain.

Kain turned his attention to the handheld. "You can go now, woman," Kain said distractedly.

"Yes, my master" the young girl said sarcastically as she left the room. She went back to her cabin and lay down on her bed again. "Better try and get some rest," she thought. After a few minutes she fell asleep. It seemed she had just closed her eyes when Kain's voice came over the intercom.

"Woman, get back up here. I need to you take over the controls," Kain shouted.

She was groggy as she got out of bed and yelled, "My name is Sakura, not woman." She stood up, straightened her clothes and hair, and then headed back to the control room and the arrogant man that was waiting for her.

On the red ship, the computer told Janin that the ship was going to land. Janin sat in the central seat on the command deck and strapped himself into the chair. He felt a slight tremor as the ship entered the Earth's atmosphere. The deceleration pressed Janin back into the chair. After a few minutes, the pressure decreased. Janin felt the ship level off as it headed toward the landing coordinates he had programmed. A few minutes later, he heard the sound of the landing gear opening, followed by a gentle, downward glide. A slight bump as the ship's landing gear made contact with solid ground told Janin he had arrived.

Janin released himself from his seat, stood up and gave his gear one final check. "I'd better suppress my power level," Janin said to himself as he got off his ship. "Now where are my victims?" Janin pushed a small button on his scouter and looked in different directions. "There you are," he said with a smile as numbers began to come up on his scouter. He looked at his scouter and counted the power levels. "Seven power levels. Well, that's two more then I'm looking for but who cares. I'll just finish them off too if I have to. Hmm, these power levels are a good distance away. Looks like I'll have to find some transportation. There should be a city to the north." He pressed his scouter and a map of the surrounding area appeared on the small glass screen over his eye. A blinking dot marked his current location. The city appeared as an irregular shape above him. With a grunt of satisfaction, Janin turned around and started walking.

Back at Dende's, the Z-fighters were trying to find their new threat.

"Darn it, where did his power level go," Vegeta yelled.

"Well, maybe he can suppress his power level like we can," Gohan replied. "But we know where he landed and if he's not flying, he may still be close by his ship."

"Okay, we better make a plan. Remember there's another huge force coming," Krillin said.

"Let's do this," Goku said. "Vegeta, why don't you and Trunks check out the ship. Krillin and Gohan, you two can check the area around the ship."

Vegeta raised his right fist. "Don't worry, Kakarot, if he's not at the spaceship, I'll hunt him down myself," Vegeta said.

"Well, what are you going to do Goku," Krillin asked. "Goten and I will stay here and wait for the other huge force," Goku said grimly. "And someone has to stay just in case the new force comes to the Lookout. Listen everyone, we don't know what we're up against, so be careful. If you find our visitor, signal the others by raising your power level. If Goten and I run into trouble, we'll do the same."

Their plans made, the four fighters took off from Dende's on their missions.
