Riley and Mary Darling's Third Child: Mildred Rosela Darling Warren
Millie Darling Looks so stubborn!
Mildred Rosella Darling was the third child of Riley and Mary Darling. She was age 3 during the 1870 Federal Census, so her birth year must be 1867. Her interesting middle name comes from her mother's sister Julia (Julia Rosella Whaples Rice Hopkins). The name is also used by Martha Whaples Leonard, who names her oldest daughter Sarah Rosella Leonard.

Mildred married Emory Warren and moved to Laingsburg, Michigan. They had at least two surviving children. Her oldest daughter was Maud (born January 1895) and oldest son was Lawrence (born March 1901). We also have a photo of a darling little girl labeled Ruth Warren. It is unknown whether she is Mildred and Emory's daughter, or perhaps Lawrence's daughter or just a niece.
I found a handwritten letter from Millie to Mabel. Although undated, it gives some interesting information: "Dear Mabel, I have picked out your family pictures from the box of Harry Darling's assortment and also the ones that I have of the Sleggses as they mean nothing to my children and no doubt prized by your family.

It seems as tho <.......> children should have their father and mother's picture and if it came some time so they could have them I wish you would give them to one or the other. I have some of the Diffenbachers but I don't even know whether they are alive.
