Thats my D-Link wireless router. I have a wireless network now. I say wireless has some really big advantages and really big disadvantages. Ofcourse the big advantage to wireless is that you don't have to drill holes and wire up your home. The big disadvantage is that in general it's just an underdeveloped technology.. The antennas are rather weak with only about 3dbi of power. Cordless phones can be a hassel too. Both the wireless cards and some cordless phones run at 2.4ghz which can cause some interference. I don't really enjoy getting my 65% link quality out of my 11mbps and 55mbps connections to much. For kind of a heafty $70 per wireless card you would think better antennas would be in those little boxes. When you bought four of them like me, thats an bundle of money right there. It seems kind of silly that the wireless cards cost just as much as the wireless router did. I did mention both 11mbps along with 55mbps, that wasn't an error. My router can support both the 802.11b or 802.11g standardized cards. The Dell I have which is running a dedicated server wouldn't accept a Linksys wireless card. I'm not exactly sure why but, the Netgear card seems to work in place of it. I'm thinking that the old Dell just doesn't support 802.11g but will support 802.11b since it's an older machine. Or, who knows thats just a guess. The Linksys tech support was just NO HELP what so ever. They could only provide me with those senceless no brainer suggestions to enhance signal strength.  For the Dell dedicated server, 65% link quality just wasn't acceptable. I came up with a bit of an idea, wire a TV antenna to the back of my computer and see how that works. If I'm feeling lucky it provides about a 20% better connection.

This is my old networking stuff I have no idea what to do with. I have a D-Link DI-604 router and a DSS-5+ switch on those two bigger boxes. All still have orignal wrapping, cords, feet, everything. I also have three ethernet cards with drivers in those two smaller boxes. There is a Linksys Network Everywhere series ethernetcard, 3com ethernet card, and a Netgrear ethernet card. All cables also come included if any one wants to buy. I belive their is five or six 6' cables and one 14' cable.

I also kind of wanted a tape deck for my sterio system on my computer. I didn't really feel like buying one though since I only have like three tapes. What I did was I just hooked some old Magnavox cd player up to my reciver. I can never find adapters, to I had to make some myself once again. I took a male sterio mini jack connecter and wired it to two male RCA connecters. I plugged the mini sterio into the headphone jack and the RCA connectors into the reciver. It was pretty easy and saved me a few bucks. The sound quality isn't great but I think it's due to the stupid little 3 band equilizer it has built in that is messing with things.
I think I spent about $350 on wireless products that don't preform as well.
My fancy little antenna.
I'm asking $50 for everything, or best offer.
As long as it gets the job done, right?
