Proud of Making Cantonese Stand-up Comedy in Chinatown

 

Objective:

 

Entertaining performances within the New York Chinese community have remained in the same traditional form in the past. This idea pushes us to create DeBext Group Production in 2002. We are here to provide new entertaining elements as well as to add new characteristics into the traditional form of culture.

 

DeBext Group Production is the Chinatown's only group dedicated to performing the fine art of Stand-up Comedy in Chinese-Cantonese. We use informal art performance and creative communication to expose the social misfits and to promote the process of thinking for these misfits.

 

Lastly, we are always looking for more potential performers. Everyone is welcome to work on writing material, stage setup, singing performance, and so on.

 

We hope to make the New York Chinese community more enjoyable.
