I think the people here in Bilbao have it right, we are much too materialistic in North America. We work and run around and never have time to live. we're so proud of all our stuff but we don't know how to relax and enjoy time and friendships.

I walked by a bar the other night and there were a bunch of old geezers sitting inside SINGING, it was beautiful. People drink socially, they even spill out onto the street but it has a whole different feel. Much less of desperation and much more of enjoyment.

When should I be moving on? I started out my "tour" here and I've almost made this place my home. A home without a real home because Jon and Alicia are really going to kill me if I don't find something else. I mean, we don't see each other much, I spend my mornings here while they are at work then I spend the rest of the day and most of the night on the town, usually with Claudette. She has found a job babysitting two kids during the day during the week so I have to kill the time until 5 on my own but I can manage.

I went to the Guggenheim yesterday (Yes they have one here, it's world famous you know. Quite an architectual wonder actually).

I have been playing on the street in "el casco viejo" (that's the old part of town) during the day and , though I'm not making a fortune, I can pull together as much as 20 Euros on a good day. that's almost enough to find a real place to stay if I keep working on it!

I've been hanging out at cybercafes as well putting my music on more websites. you can check it out under "music", I'm at around 10 different sites. So I haven't given up totally. The new songs are starting to come along as well.
