Part 1 Castles in Spain

Week 13 Sunday September 11 to Saturday September 17, 2005

He wants Canadian money. There's a guy who owns a bar here where I sometimes hang out. He collects coins from all over the world. He's got some Canadian coins but he still needed the 10 cent piece and the tooney. I was able to provide him with these rare and valuable Canadian coins and he paid me with a carton of Ducados. If you aren't into tobacco in particular, you should know that Ducados are black tobacco as opposed to the blond stuff we have in Canada. It's real mean and nasty and a good strong smoke. And cheap, though not nearly as much so as it was before the coming of the Euro.

Europe. Life is different here. People still smoke in bars. Young people in their twenties are still lost and radical rather than conservative and power/money hungry. Probably because there ain't too much money and power left lyin' about for anyone here in Bilbao in their twenties. Getting a permanent job here is like winning the lottery. Those who have jobs have temporary contract postions which get renewed and renewed till they either have to give you a permanent job or let you go. So guess what they do? Yeh, they let you go.

Sometimes I miss Canada. I mean, its only been a few months but sometimes it seems longer, it seem like a lifetime away. Of course, in cyberspace there's no time or place, right? Peace.
