With dreams idealized in the shadow's zeal
Beneath the clouds where earth meets sky
Denounced are feelings but left to ask why
In nightmares too frightful and dark and real

Ascension draws the spirits into lies
Where laughter, innocence cannot conceal
Beneath the clouds where earth meets sky
Defiance grows from mouth, ears, and eyes
To dance with devils is a vile deal
In glares of heaven, dying angels cry
To contend against death, the angels vie
Normal lives are something they cannot steal
Beneath the clouds where earth meets sky
And caused by hatred, the weak angel dies
Condemned by arbiter's almighty seal
