Samantha prefers the company of animals to humans, elves, and especially dwarves. She has a 2,000 lb cave bear, named Fred, who pretty much eats and does what he wants. Samantha started her adventuring career with Sarek but they couldn't see eye to eye. Unfortunately for Sarek, he and the bear did see eye to eye just before Sarek was about to become lunch. Samantha has an eye for Merrin and likes his viewpoint on life and nature but she is afraid to approach him.
