In Memory of...
Kelson Delsonari
Player: David K. (from late 2002 - February 2004); Campaign: Darwin's Realm
Bio written by David K.

"We are the wind, the hawk on the wing, the wolf on the prowl.
The soaring spirit of the sky and the patient spirit of the earth are ours.
Our bed is of moss, our roof the sky, and our life...is the world's."

-credo of the Hunters of Solonar Thelandira

Dead Characters Kelson is a priest of the Hunters of Solonar Thelandira, a specialized order of the elven church. These specialty priests eschew the comforts and conveniences of civilization, making themselves at home in the wilderness. They stand guard over civilization, holding back the terrors of the wilds that would prey on the flesh of the innocent. For these silent hunters, no fame or fortune can match the pride they take in the mastery of their own abilities or their unity with nature.

Kelson
Kelson joined the adventuring life after being rescued from the undead clutches of an elven wight. As a Hunter of Solonar, Kelson left his homeland to learn more about the world and develop his own skills as an elite protector of the forests his folk call their home. Since the priests of his order can not suffer the existence of undead -- an affront to the natural order of thingss -- he didn't hesitate to hunt the undead warrior that was rumored to be haunting the mountains above a human village. Unfortunately, his lack of practical experience lead to his capture by the wight. Kelson is sure that his future would have been filled with torture leading to a horrific existence of undeath if a party of adventurers had not destroyed the wight and freed him from captivity.

Having spent most of his first century of life in his elven homeland, Kelson was aloof and unsure of his place with this band of adventurers of various races and outlooks. After he took up the mantle of leadership -- which he did reluctantly when the previous leader died -- he began a slow evolution from aloofness to feeling a kinship and responsibility for his fellow companions.

He is still uncomfortable with the mantle of leadership. Much of his solitary time is spent trying to reconcile his new responsibilities to his companions with the ethos of the Hunters. It is not a new inner conflict for the elf since he has been struggling with a similar quandary regarding his practice of the arcane arts. Both his role of leader and wizard call upon him to come out of the wilderness more than a Hunter typically does. He has spent an inordinate amount of time in cities and leading his companions on adventures that have little to do with his chosen path in life.

Kelson's appearance is much what one would expect for someone who survives in the wilderness. His clothing and much of his gear are all made of buckskins, leather, and furs. He has the fair skin, green eyes, and lithe build of his people. His hair, however, no longer has the golden luster it once had. Kelson's shoulder length hair has become a pale white as a result of his captivity with the undead elf.

Kelson's primary role among adventuring parties is that of support. He uses his repertoire of divine and arcane abilities and his talent with archery to manipulate the battlefield to the needs of his companions. He is comfortable with thinking strategically but approaches most things from the perspective of a hunter rather than a general.
