Tale of Two Ships
Hand Crafted by Steve B. and Gary G.
Both of the ships pictured below were hand crafted by our resident carpenters, Steve B. and
Gary G. The ships are built to 25mm scale which matches the scale of the miniature figurines we
use in our gaming. Both ships are built from pine (used as a structural base and the ships' main
decks and masts) with balsa wood for the hulls, raised decks, and details.
The larger of the two, the Vengeance, was crafted as a model of a pirate ship captained
by Captain Morgan, a non-player character (NPC) villain. The smaller ship is the Wind's Pawn
which is owned by Ahriallen, a player character (PC) run by David K.
While the ships were originally crafted to be used in the Darwin's Realm campaign
it is expected that they will also be used in other campaigns and situations. Both ships are
based upon common ships (the Vengeance is a small frigate and the Wind's Pawn is a schooner)
and can be used in middle ages fantasy games such as they were designed for and in games set
as late as the 1800's.
