Just shortly after the census above. It appears that her son Albert was dead by 1910. Don't know whatever happened to his wife and children. She brought her young sons to Atlanta just before 1870. She never married again. She rented a farm and worked the farm with her young sons. After 1878, Robert filed to relieve the uuardian from his father estate and whatever money was left was most likely given to him. I have not found him in 1880, but it appears he married abt 1880 to some unknown woman and by 1900 she was possibly dead. As Nancy aged, Robert moved back to care for his mother until her death. She is buried in Adamsville somewhere, I think near Ben Hill I am not sure if it is a community back then or a road or the name of the cemetery. It is dangerous in that area for strangers to be wandering around without being armed. I tried to get cousin Ralph to see if he could find it, he worked for the phone company out in those areas, he wasn't able yet to determine the place of her and Robert H Hobbs burial. Mollie is in Hart Cemetery near the airport. Mollie moved the family to East Point, Georgia which is a southern Atlanta community, she grew up in that general area, some of it was or near Clayton Co., GA where her father lived, I suspect it was around the airport near Riverdale. Mollie is found in 1920 in East Point living near her sister Saphronia who was called Fronie. 1917 Dec 27 Sterling Jack Hobbs born Atlanta, Fulton Co., GA son of Mary Ann Hobbs 1920 East Point, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia Census Jan 19, 1920 Mollie Hobbs 43 GA GA GA head widow rent my great grandmother Annie Hobbs 19 GA GA GA dau single overall factory my grandmother Sterling J Hobbs 2 mo GA GA GA grson b. | Received a note from Anna Moseley regarding the Owen Family. Our fathers are buried together in the Owen Family plot in College Park GA. Hi Diane! I am trying to find out what I can about Uncle Dewey's family. I don't remember too much about him. I remember going to his house one time before he died and he was very sick. All of my grandfathers brothers and my grandfather had bad lung problems probably emphysema. My father died in 1991 and he was the oldest in his family. I have an aunt and and uncle left on the Owen side. My Aunt and I are very close and she may be able to help me find some information. Let me know what information that you need and I will try to help. Good luck on your move, let's talk later. I love your web site. I hope someday to have one. Anna Aug 7, 2000 |

| Around 1920's Annie contracted meningitis. She survived the illness with a handicap that paralyzed her on the one side of her body. She could make a fist and not unfold her hand until she was relaxed. Her brothers would bet her a fifty cent piece they could get the half dollar out of her hand when she put it in her hand. They never ever won. When she would get mad at my father, and grab him up to discipline him, she would have him tightly in her fist, she would not be able to let go of him until she was relaxed, which sometimes her husband would accomplish. |
