Dan is a programmer/analyst with SAFECO, Inc., in Seattle, Washington. Dan has worked at SAFECO for almost 8 1/2 years. In order to avoid facing Seattle traffic on his own, Dan uses Metro to get to work. Over the years, he and his commuting buddies on the 197 Run have gained a reputation for being a wild, and crazy group. Sometimes they meet for lunch, other times they throw parties on the bus. In the past they've had birthday parties and baby showers. They have even been known to hold Tupperware Parties on the bus. (Actually, they'll use any excuse for a party.)

Dan turned thirty in July, 1998...His parents flew up from California to surprise him. When we went to the airport he was expecting to pick up his sister and brother-in-law. We returned with four guests. As part of the festivities we threw a party where each guest was asked to bring him thirty of something. Gifts ranged from a list of "30 Web Sites" to 30 quarters, 30 polished rocks to 30 pair of underwear...

One of the highlights for Dan in 1996 and again in 1997 was: PromiseKeepers. This summer Dan will be attending the PromiseKeepers Gathering in Tacoma. In 1997 Dan attended the Fresno gathering with his father and brother-in-law. While the men were at Promisekeepers, Diana, the boys, Dan's mom, and his sister spent the weekend shopping and attending parties. One of the high points was attending the Creative Memories Workshop. Diana is now hooked on 'scrapbooking', although she doesn't get ot spend as much time working at it as she would like to.

Diana is a former substitute teacher, turned homemaker. In August 1998, she attended the Women of Faith conference in Seattle. Eight women from Marcus Whitman attended. The Women of Faith Conference will be returning to Seattle in August 1999. In October 1998, Dan and Diana were able to spend a weekend in Portland without the boys to attend a "Marriage Builders" conference that was put on by Women of Faith.

Diana enjoys cooking, sewing, scrapbooking, and genealogy. She also enjoys web page design. Of course, the majority of her time is spent with our two sons, David & Drew.

Family  we are active at Marcus Whitman Presbyterian Church. We have attend MWPC since we moved to the area in 1990. Diana is active in the Women's Association and Women's Bible Study. She also serves as Wedding Hostess for the Church. For almost four years, Dan served as the choir director for the church. He left that position in early 1996 to help in the development of a Worship Team Ministry. Dan is now serving on a task force to develop a second sevice aimed at reaching the unchurched in our community. David loves his Sunday School Class and Jr. Worship. Although Drew is still nursery age, he loves attending Sunday School with David when he gets a chance.
