Thank you for stopping by. We hope you find the links on this page informative. We have tried to include links that would appeal to families with children. Most of these make good day trips if you live in the Seattle Metropolitan Area. If you live in the Seattle area, you may want to consider purchasing family passes for your favorite destinations. In most cases 2 to 3 visits in one year pays for price of the pass. Some places such as the Science Center and Children's Museum offer passes that allow you to bring guests each time you visit. This makes the pass even more economical in the long run because you can take friends who are in from out of town, the kids next door, etc.

For the Portland destinations, we have found that it works well to take Amtrak from Tacoma or Seattle to Portland and plan on staying overnight. Once in Portland, we use their public transit system for getting around. If you are only planning on visiting one attraction in Portland, it is possible to drive down in the morning and return the same day, but it makes for a long day with young children.
