The swimming pool - great in the summer to have a refreshing dip. Pools always create a pleasant atmosphere and we have incorporated ours into the tropical theme. Sparkling water, lush ferns, vibrant colour - our own little haven. So let's get into tropical mode.

....WATER FEATURES....
We have been very lucky with our tree ferns and various plants around the pool, especially as it is salt water. We have found the tree ferns and bromelaids tolerate this environment rather well although we do have them under cover of shade cloth. Ribbon grass is hardy and is one of my favourites, I use a lot to fill in a bare area, to offset a blaze of colour or to use in hanging baskets. I have even used ribbon grass in my ponds, it looks most attractive.

SWIMMING POOL

The pool is handy to cool off in during our hot Australian summers. We have placed blue solar lights on each main pool fence support where the panels join and they look particularly effective in the evening. They cast a soft glowing atmosphere and look very pretty. Maintenance wise our pool is not that difficult to look after. We live in a very "leafy" area with numerous huge gum trees so leaves and debris from the trees are always present. Fortunately we have the right pool equipment to cope with this. All pools look so much better if they are sparkling and clean - they make the idea of a swim very enticing.
