--my mvp valentine--

a story about love and basketball
the cool basketball moves. real basketballers who are much admired. exciting, unique, beautiful styles of filming. songs that touch ur heart and bring u on. and most importantly, a storyline that interests and holds. this taiwanese serial might be just a move to promote the new boyband 5566, but it certainly has done its job very well. in recent ratings from taiwan, the energetic, as well as heart-rending, idol drama has gone to the tops, outstripping other series like tomorrow.

in this drama based on basketball (and somewhat on slam dunk), taiwanese national team basketballer yan[2] xing[2]shu[1] plays the lead duan chenfeng, whose world consists of his 2 greatest loves--basketball and his girlfriend, xiaoxi (angela chang). they find their perfect world shattered, however, when on the day of his most important match duan chenfeng meets with an accident on his way to the competition, and paralyses angel (lin[2] li[4] wen[2]), who happens to be the sister of iceman (chen[2] yu[3] fan[2]), his biggest opponent since young. to shoulder his responsibilty, chenfeng breaks up with xiaoxi and leaves school and his basketball so that he can take care of angel. xiaoxi, who does not know the reason behind chenfeng's leaving school and giving up his beloved basketball, is heartbroken and bewildered. at about the same time, the other lead male character taizi, or prince (tony sun of 5566), enters the plot. he falls in love with xiaoxi's plucky and determined character, as did angel with chenfeng's warmth and gentleness in looking after her. a complicated love triangle is thus born...watch how the characters fight for basketball and for love in this drama that will no doubt hold ur sight and heart by the time u have finished with the first episode.

*latest news on my mvp valentine:
on 4 and 5 jan 2003,  four of the cast--tony sun, angela chang, sam wang and
gao tian chyi--were in singapore! it was real crowded at the airport and hmv heeren, where they held one of their autograph sessions. they also had a basketball match which sadly, needed tickets in order for u to go in and watch them compete with others. besides that, a press conference was also held--so watch out for the newspapers--and ufm 1003 interviewed them on radio on 4 jan at 10pm. although they arrived late for the show, the interview was nonetheless still memorable. click here to take u to the secrets they shared with us on that unforgettable night...

i have found three of the unlisted songs (not in official soundtrack) used in mvp valentine. they are dearest by ayumi hamasaki, injury by hal and every heart by boa.
