| the real mvp valentine... as part of the mvp valentine mania now gripping taiwan and singapore, yan xingshu (duan chenfeng), tony sun (prince), sam wang (shao wei), and chen yu fan (iceman) --four great hunks who share the same passion in sports--came together to form the "yuan[2] qi[4] nan[2] hai[2] ", which when translated into english will be the "energetic four". not only did they had a public match among themselves (xingshu and tony vs. sam and yu fan), there was also a survey conducted to see who, out of the four, most deserved the title of the "mvp valentine". in the end, it was yan xingshu who won that title. yan xingshu probably deserved it, being the first (and sometimes considered main) lead actor in the drama series, and also one of taiwan's top, popular basketballers, a player in the national team. but the real mvp valentine, the real mvp valentine in my heart, is neither xingshu or tony or the other two. he was not included in the survey, nor was he one of the "energetic four". yet he is one of the important characters in the story, and is also very popular, not to mention highly acclaimed, in the basketball scene. he, is gao tian chyi, or an gu, as he is more affectionately called. the spiky-haired athlete who acted as the cool, rash and hot-headed gao xin has all the right moves to make u sit up and notice him--and be awed. on the court he has all the power to make u mesmerised...and also the power to help his team score. he may not be in the national team now, but he sure is one player u won't want to miss. in the show, on and off court, it is ultimately his coolness and hot temper that help to win hearts over. the streak of rebelliousness in him fascinates rather than irritates. it is, as someone has once put it, something that we girls can't wait to get our hands on and tame. and of course, his hair, styled in various spiky fashions throughout the series, is out to catch female fans who simply adore the spiky style (and there are many who love it. including me.) cool as he is, gao xing shows that he is capable of feeling when he later falls very much in love with barbie, whom he had initially detested. ahhh...talk about guys with cool, hot-headed exteriors, but who actually have some good in them. who wouldn't go crazy, if not fall in love, over such a guy? and maybe u'll say i'm stupid and mad, but that doesn't matter. real or unreal, gao xin, gao tian chyi, or an gu, will still be my mvp valentine.
