The Power of Myth ~ Joseph Campbell.
Dream description:
It is bright daylight. I am house sitting for someone. I don't know who. The house is a combination of this one, C.M.'s mother's house in Westmoreland and a few others. I have been there a week when I realize that I have not been back to my own house at all ~ my cats haven't even been fed. I run out of the house.
Now it's dark and I'm lying on my futon. Two men, one an older man ~ almost elderly and the other is indistinct, come up. The older man sits on my bed as the other man walks into the room I use as a studio. I start to cry as I say, "You're not supposed to be here yet! The house is a mess!" I run downstairs. I open one door in the back of the house but don't go out, for some reason. I go to another door ~ this one pure white with gold hardware on it ~ where I unlock it and walk out of the house, intending to go home.
I end up on the 'left' side of the house. There are two or three buildings here. I go into a building made out of cinderblock. It is completely empty. I expect it to be totally dark in there when I close the door and I reach for the button that turns on the lights but it isn't. It is as if it were dawn in there. The TV is on in the house. Enterprise is on and it is an episode that I haven't seen, even though it is the wrong night for it (my god, even in my dreams, I can't miss an episode of Enterprise.) It seems to be a Trip heavy episode. He is entirely too skinny in this one. His face looks the same but his arms, chest and belly are muscled but almost to 'beanpole' status (O.K., this one is a result of watching Frontier House last night. Pure and Simple.)
I finally make it to my truck and start it up. I won't miss any of Enterprise because I have a small flatscreen t.v. attached to the dash and the show is on channel 30 ~ not cable. I head home on an incredibly hilly and curvy road.
