Latest slip o'the tongue: HorseRaving (meant to say horseracing.) I have a vision of all these horses boogeying down to techno under strobe lights and disco balls.

A Joke:

A neutron walks into a bar and orders a drink. When the drink comes, the neutron asks, "How much?" and the bartender says, "For you ~ no charge." HAhahahahahaHA! Ah...I love bad jokes.

GETTING READY WITH THE COSMIC FINGER OF FRIENDSHIP

First, a dream description (and I'm kicking myself for not writing it down quicker. There were a lot of details in this one!):

The dream repeats itself during the same dream cycle. I am on a stage crew for some type of concert. I don't know what my function in the group is, only that I am an important part of it and we are like family. We are standing to the side of an auditorium, watching the show and making sure that there are no problems. Suddenly, all these pyrotechnics go off, showering the stage with sparks. It looks very cool but there are no pyrotechnics in our show. We run to the stage and I know that one of the crew has been killed.

Afterward, when the auditorium is empty, we are trying to figure out what happened. The one who was killed (I can't remember his name) is here ~ his girlfriend keeps claiming that she can see him and talk to him. We don't know what to think until suddenly, I can see and talk to him too. In our conversation, he tells me who was responsible for the pyrotechnics. It turns out to be my dad's wife (who, in this dream, is a girl from high school, Kelly).

The girlfriend is understandably upset. She asks me if I always know when her boyfriend is around. I can't. I only can sense him when he wants me to know he's there. When he is talking to her, I can't sense him at all. I am confused that I could see him as I did. He looked as 3D and solid as he did when he was alive. That has never happened before.

We set up a meeting with my dad and his wife. She has no idea that we know what she has done. They walk up and I lose it. I get right in her face and yell, "Why don't you catch on fire?!"

Grrrrrrr...I have about had it. I have been working on a charcoal drawing of a clover for about three days now. I've got one petal done ~ after about a day of working on it. Now...I have worked on the second petal for two days and it still isn't looking right. I have tried everything, down to turning the entire drawing where that petal was at the same angle as the first. I have even erased everything and started over. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!

I keep working on the damn thing even though my mind critters are screaming at me ~ "This sucks! You ain't no charcoal artist!" (I never said that they had good grammer.) They even scream, "You dilettante!"

It's way past time for a mind critter hunt. They need to go.

On top of all this, I decided to try the same image in ink. I laid out grid, transferred the image (magnified four times) and proceeded to work on it, this time staying close to the original sketch instead of trying to make it more 'realistic.' I got the image nearly finished when I realized ~ this image doesn't work in large scale. Whatever makes it work at 6"x4.25" just isn't there at 24x17.

Please ~ someone send tequila and the makings for margaritas! It'll be time for it after I find a convenient rock to bash my head against!

Screw this. I'm going to get ready for my usual Saturday night veg fest: Buffy, Enterprise (that Trip! Yum!), Stargate SG-1 and The Invisible Man (that Darian certainly isn't 'soup' either.)

Ugh ~ I still haven't answered my e-mail. I guess that will have to be tomorrow...along with finishing up those damn financial aid forms for fall. Ugh and ugh again!
