My mom called today. She only called to chit chat. Ugh! Is there a more useless thing than chit chat? How can anyone be happy going through life having the exact same conversation over and over about the price of grapes at the grocery store or the latest snipey gossip on other family members?

Thank whoever that this week has ended! My part in the play, the student exhibition, and the art scholarship competition is done except for finding out who won what. I went by yesterday but the results weren't posted yet. I thought about going by today but I think I'll just wait. I'll be back soon enough.
I haven't figured out why this was so different from other competitions that I've entered. Perhaps I was just overwhelmed by all the stuff that needed to be done at once or simply exhaustion. I put in a few eleven hour days, thanks to last minute things on the play and getting seven pieces matted. It didn't occur to me until yesterday that not once did I get the jitters or think about anything other than getting the things matted and finished. It was also yesterday that it really hit me that there was money at stake here ~ a seven hundred dollar scholarship and four hundred in prize money although I don't know how much is awarded to first, second and third. I would really like to win that scholarship though.
