Vincent Longfellow was the second child of three of Thomas and Nancy (Reed)Longfellow.I don't believe Thomas and Nancy moved to Maryland but the border of Maryland and Delaware was disputed making their new home Murderkill Hundred,Kent,Delaware. Vincent was born 4 Oct 1777 in Murderkill Hundred,Kent,Delaware. He first married Richie Cubbidge that was born 17 Feb 1778 in Delaware on 4 May 1798 in Kent,Delaware and they had three children:
1)Vincent b.10 Jun 1799 in Kent,Delaware and he later moved to Ohio.2)Jonathan Vincent Longfellow b.26 Dec 1800 in Murderkill Hundred, Kent, Delaware. Jonathan first married Margaret Ann Stradley 27 Nov 1837 and second Letitia Stradley 20 May 1839.3)James b.12 Jan 1802 Murderkill Hundred,Kent,Delaware. Was this the James Longfellow that married Susan Edwards 18 Oct 1824? Seems likely! Vincent first married Richie Cubbidge and then I believe Richie died and Vincent married her sister Ann Cubbidge in 1803. Thanks to Cathy Hutson for these Marriage Bonds. Jonathan (V.-Vincent) Longfellow born 26 Dec 1800 first married Margaret Ann
Stradley 27 Nov 1837 and they had John S. Longfellow 7 Oct 1838 in Murderkill Hundred,Kent,Delaware. It is assumed that Margaret may have died in child birth possibly even with John S. Longfellow. Jonathan V. second married on 20 May 1839 I believe Margaret's sister Letitia Stradley
and they had nine children: 1)Lydia 10 May 1840 Kent,Delaware and she married Mr. Jones. 2)Margaret Ann b.28 Jul 1844 in Kent,Delaware and she married Thomas H. George and they had at least two children John C. George,and Mary S. George. 3)Jonathan B. b.21 Sep 1847 He married Ellen Conner and they had Conner Longfellow. Jonathan B. second married Mary Florence Carter 15 Sep 1877 and they had five children; Lola,Jonathan,Leroy Carter,Arlington Tilghman and L. Virginia Longfellow.4)Richie Longfellow b.2 Aug 1850 Kent,Delaware. 5)James A. W. Longfellow b.13 Jan 1853 6)Thomas Vincent Longfellow b.23 Jan 1856 and he married to Eunity Kemp on 31 Jan 1876
and they had at least two children, possibly three with a possible 1.Eugena b. 1873 2. John Kemp and 3. Richie E. Longfellow that married Thomas Henry Hutson. Richie and Thomas Henry Hutson had 8 children, Elva,Clara,Clayton,Thomas Henry Jr.,James J.,Elwood,Carl Edward,and Clarence Rowland Hutson. Thomas dies soon after his marriage to (E)Unity on 17 Oct 1878.7)William H.H. b.27 Jul 1859 (Twin)in Kent,Delaware and he married Anne Sherwood and they had at least four children. Frederic,Herman, Edith and William.8)Mary J. b.27 July 1859 (Twin)and she married J.W.Blades 9)Letitia b.3 May 1862 in Kent,Delaware and she married William Morris abt 1885 and they had Arther Morris and Ola Morris. Any new information on any of these families would be appreciated. This census shows several of these children.
