G'day and Welcome to My On-Line diary! This is the start of my Australian adventure!
I woke up this morning, and had mixed feelings, was happy and also sad that I was leaving. Said goodbye to neighbours, Barbara across the road, Lynda, Marty and Roland Rat! Drove to Heathrow Airport, thinking 'Have I left anything behind, and what will this year be like?' Arrived about 3 hours early, checked in, had pizza and then it was time to say goodbye to Mum, Dad and Ben. Walked around Terminal 3's shops and recreation areas. Watched BBC News 24 from the Departure lounge and had a Starbucks' hot chocoolate! Was recieving texts from Mum, Lauren and Joanne right up until I got on the plane... ...funny story.. I actually went the wrong way and nearly ended up on the wrong plane! I had an Isle seat and was listening to the on-demand music system for most of the flight. I must have slept for about 5 hours - but in 10-minute slots!
Monday 31st: I arrived in Singapore about 10am Monday morning (UK time) and switched planes, walked around the shops, and got a Hot Chocolate at the Coffee Bean. It was the Chinese New Year celebrations in Asia when I was there, so they had all kinds of different things going on from food tasting to music playing. Two hours later, I was back on the plane for the 8-hour journey to Australia! The plane was not full completely up. I had two seats next to me empty, which was good and gave me a little space to move about. I did all the exercises etc, and drunk loads of water, had a few Orange Juices and stayed off the Cola. Meal times were interesting! It was either Chicken or Curry Noodle, so I opted for the Chicken!
