Obviously, the long  dark de-chickenising
sheds where the  eggs are produced are usually known as "The Big House" , or "The Nut Farm" The inhabitants are called "Lifers" , and the Free Range birds, are sarcastically referred to as " The Landed Gentry" or "Bastards".
I ate one on sunday, who was previously known as "Paulo" He was a tough bastard.
