Implamentation
Now the implamentation of these ideas is not going to be very easy to send out to the teen agers of today because they are stricken to the point of finding books boring unless they have sex and/or violence about them. So the only way to truly do a good job with making our children smarter is to prepare for the future, start them when they are young. While they are real young, play games with blocks, read them stories and teach them to read. Don't have a TV on all the time. It is a very poor baby sitter. Yes it can be useful now and then, but having it take your place as a parent tends to spoil children's minds no matter how good the show is on TV.
Also do away with the internet until they are at least 16. I have been online for like 4 years, I have seen a lot so I can say with much experience that having them on any younger would not only be malnutricious to their mind but dangerous in many ways. Just check the aol and yahoo public chat rooms, it is easy to see how bad it is. Safe watch or nanny programs can't block chat rooms like those. A little off topic but also essential, watch your children while they surf the web, ask about what they do, and don't oppress their behavior with programs because they always find a way around them. Watching them and limiting their time online is the healthiest thing to do.
So teenagers, children, parents, grab a good book, talk with people, enjoy your lives. It is for the betterment of your mind and your life ahead of you.
