88's classic memories. Good times and not so great
magic moments are re-visited here in this test your memory

Did you know that Darlington drew
10 times in their 2000 outdoor season? 7 of those ties came
in regular season.
Did you know that July 9th, 1998
in the U-10 outdoor season the boys hit
double figures at the Hydros, thumping Unionville by a score
of 10-0?
Did you know that in 1999 in the
outdoor season the U-11 boys went wire to wire, only losing
once capturing the League Championship with a 13-1 overall
record?
Did you know that in the U-13 2001
outdoor season Chrissy scored in 11 consecutive games; 5 of
those games he scored a pair?
Did you know that in the 2003
Regional U-15 outdoor season Spidey had registered
5 consecutive games not surrendering a single goal?
Did you know that in the 2000 U-12
outdoor season Greggors scored a hat-trick and assisted on
another in a 4-2 win over Richmond Hill? But what's
even more outstanding is the fact that all 3 of his goals on
that night came from long range free kicks from 30 yards out
and further?
Did you know that Spidey
posted 5 consecutive shut-outs in the Richmond Green
Indoor 2002 season?
Did you know that there has only
ever been one rookie ever in the history of the 88's to
register a point, earn a MOTM nod and collect a yellow card
all in his debut regular season only?That rookie was in the
2003 Outdoor Season and it was Frenchy.
Did you know that way back in 1998
during our 88's U-10 season they drove up north to play Lake
Simcoe? Our lads won 5-0. Matt McMillan scored four goals on that
chilly night.
Did you know that our 88's third
game in the "98 Etobicoke Tourney was postponed for one
and a half hours due to a freak sleet and hail storm at the
beginning of June?
Did you know that on July 20th,
2000 in the U-12 outdoor season the lads lost 1-6 to CS
Azzurri, but they lost more that their pride on that night
as Scotty broke his arm and was sidelined for the rest of
the year? He actually made a triumphant return for the
very last game of the season helping the team to maintain
their footings in the Premiers and not get relegated.
Did you know that our 88's began
their 2001-02 indoor season with a 10-game unbeaten
record; 7 of those were wins?
Did you know in the 2001 outdoor
season Geoff, Kyle, Greggors, Jeremy & Stephen were
present for all 32 games?
Did you know that way back in
1998 our 88's opened up their outdoor regular season
against Unionville and won a covincing 6-0 game? David
scored 4 goals and assisted on the other 2.
Did you know that there has
only ever been one Darlington 88 individual to
be cautioned and sent out of the game in the history of
the team?It was not a player. Do you know who that
person was?
Did you know that Unionville
doesn't really have real refs?They use wood-working
rejects that wear safety goggles.Also, York has the school
for these referees.
Did you know that in the 2001
outdoor season all fifteen 88's, including Spidey,
contributed with either a goal or an assist?
Did you know that Aaron walked no
less than 4 "MOTM" honours in the 2002
outdoor season including the Most Sportsmanlike hardware at
the end of the season?
Did you know that our lads played
in the 2003 Outdoor Ajax Tournament against Richmond Hill
and not one single player actually played even though they
were really there on the pitch?
