| Combat is the most important group of skills in RuneScape. Why? Because every other skill revolves around helping your combat. To gain combat experience fight beings in the RuneScape world. 1/4 of your experience always goes towards hitpoints. If you fight controlled then 1/4 of your experience will go towards each combat skill. (attack, defense, strength, and hitpoints) If you fight +3 to a skill (for example strength) then 3/4 of your experience will go towards strength, and 1/4 will go towards hitpoints.
