I work in many programs and can do some insane stuff when it comes to sound and music. Some programs are good for one thing and other programs are good for another so its good to diversify. I use very high quality software and hardware. (my computer's a P4 1.7 gigahertz but runs slower than my 700mhz celeron laptop because of the powerful sound card I use!) |

SOUND - My favorite program to work in is Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 6. I do most of my work and recording in there, but I also do some work in software that's made for my sound card. Editing sound effects, cleaning up a music track, editing out noise, and adding effects are easy commonplace tasks that dont take me long. I can record and edit in DVD quality 24-bit audio. |

MUSIC - I started writing midi music about 2 years ago, and boy have I come a ways. I can but dont like to use a physical keyboard because I have problems with my fingers, so I just edit them in the sequencer. I like to use Anvil Studio Version 4.01 for sequencing, Cubasis VST with plugins for midi mastering and sample arrangement, and Fruityloops 3 for sampling and mastering.
For my personal music, it takes a while to finish my tracks. I can start and finish it in one day, but then I come back the next and find something I want to change, and it'll go on and on. Such is the way of a perfectionist. I've written full mastered hip-hop tracks for people in an hour and a half when they need it though, so I can work when needed.
I put up a track of "The Song of Storms", which is a song from the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's a remix that took me about 4 hours to do. A good deal of it was getting the notes and timing right. It came out alright for the time I did it in.
Because of good reactions I made a Gerudo Valley Remix, now here for you to enjoy.
I go by the name of Dark Projects, after the subtitle of the first "Thief" game. Mainly because the franchise represents the mood I go for, and also my projects are spooky. :) |
