More than 200 orphans, their ages ranging from one day and above, live in this section.  These, together with 150 other female children who live in very bad and poor conditions, are provided with educational and health services, social care and entertainment.  The director of the Boarding Section is in charge of all the activities in this section, assisted by two other supervisors and 14 assistants.

This section contains 12 dormitories, each enough for 12-16 girls; with an additional bedroom for the mother in charge and her assistant, who take over all the responsibilities and services for these girls day and night.  Not to forget the toilets and showers that are a part of these rooms.  Also we provide the meals for the girls in a big dining room to enjoy their meals.

Continuing Education

It is important to mention that the employees in this institute participate in courses which deal with different subjects about health, arts, computers, psychological behavior, and concentrate on how to deal with the girls who suffer form very hard and critical problems.

Activities

In addition to the fore-mentioned, Dar El-Tifl has celebrated its 50th anniversary where many joyful events took place.  For example, children of the Boarding Section presented a play about the start of D.T.A. in the year 1948.  Songs and folklore dancing were among these activities.  We are very grateful for Ms. Aya Sahker, a member of the Board, who trained these girls, who were very happy to express their hidden talents, which was met by appreciation and admiration of the audience.  This led us to repeat the celebration activities three times.  During Ramadan, the girls celebrated a folklore night by wandering in the nearby streets, carrying colored lanterns and singing folklore songs.

A happy mother working and rearing her own children at Dar El-Tifl where she had been a happy child and became a qualified personal.
