My Summer Vacation

Well, over this summer vacation I did a few new things. I started golf again from a one year break. Another thing was that I also took an English class that I really wasn't expecting. This class was a bit different. A lot eaiser since I did take AP Language the year before. Anyways, this is a preview of one of the plays that I read. It came straight off the back.
INHERIT THE WIND
In Inherit the Wind, Bertram Cates, a small-time schoolteacher, teaches Darwinism and dares to challenge his upbringing in the small town of Hillsboro. The mob mentality of overzealous religious people causes them to object. The protagonist of the story is Henry Drummond, the defending attorney for Bertram Cates. The antagonists are Matthew Harrison Brady, the prosecuting attorney, Reverend Jeremiah Brown, who condemns to Hell all people who dare to challenge his strict interpretations of the Bible, and Hornbeck, the forever cynic of everyone's thoughts and feelings but his own.

Here are some words that the class went over.
Foreign
Located away from one's native country: on business in a foreign city.
Stray
To move away from a group, deviate from the correct course, or go beyond established limits.
Sigh
To exhale audibly in a long deep breath, as in weariness or relief.
Weariness
Physically or mentally fatigued.
Staff
A set of horizontal lines and intermediate spaces used in notation to represent a sequence of pitches, in modern notation normally consisting of five lines and four spaces. Also called stave.
Lot
One's fortune in life; fate.
Comrade
A person who shares one's interests or activities; a friend or companion.
