Profile of the Bride

Engr. Livia "Ivy" P. Esquejo

 

 

Ivy as fondly known to her relatives and friends, grew up in native town of Imus. She attended her kindergarden at the Little Lamb School located at Binakayan, Kawit Cavite. Just like her three elder sisters, she finished her primary school at Gov. Camerino Elementary School situated just a couple of blocks from her residence at Medicion 2nd. At an early age, she have shown exemplary performance by bagging the 2nd honorable mention award in her elementary graduation. Going with family tradition, she also enrolled at one of the premier secondary schools in Cavite at Imus Institute. During her highschool days, she further developed her personality and played an active role in various school-related activities. Aside from performing ahead of her class academically, she still finds time to act in numerous capacities for the different school organizations such as being President of Social Studies club, VP for English Club, Feature editor at The Mango, CAT-1 Model Coy Platoon Leader, Trainer at Artist Guild, Business Manager of Math Club and Senate President of the Imus Student Government.

 

In pursuing her ambitions, she enrolled at Mapua Institute of Technology where she took up Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering (BS ECE). In her college days, she played an active role acting in different roles and even elected as President for the Mapua Chapter of Institute of Electronics and Communications Engineer's of the Philippines (IECEP). Her active participation also extended in the National Chapter of IECEP performing the function of Auditor. After graduating last April 1998, she took and passed the ECE Board exam given by PRC last April 1999. In year 2000, she decided to pursue higher education and enrolled in the Master of Engineering Program of Mapua with specialization in ECE. She finished the program in 2 years graduating last April 2002 garnering the highest recognition as a summa cum laude graduate.

 

Currently, Ms. Esquejo is a full-time professor at the Mapua Institute of Technology handling courses at the School of EE-ECE-CoE and Graduate School. She teaches the following courses: Data and Digital Communication, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Math, Logic Circuit, Microprocessor and Finite Element Analysis.

 

 

 

 

Profile of the Groom

Engr. Daniel M. Castro

 

 

Daniel grew up as a child in Sampaloc, Manila and as teenager they move to Novaliches, Quezon City where he finished his primary schooling at San Bartolome Elementary School. Daniel as a young student exhibited good academic performance in both Math and Science. He took up his secondary schooling at Capitol Institute, a private school located along Quirino Highway, Tandang Sora QC. As a highschool student, he was just an ordinary part of the crowd doing just fine academically and once luckily elected as a 3rd Year class president. It was on his senior year that he was exposed to computers when he discovered his talent. His interest lead him aiming to become a computer engineer some day.

 

As suggested by family and close peers, he enrolled at the Mapua Institute of Technology in 1990. Being a late enrollee, he was forced to take up BS Civil Eng'g initially but later shifted to BS ECE. During his college days, he was an active member of the SOLID student organization and IECEP. He finished his college degree last November 1994 belonging to the top 10% of his batch. After college, he took the board last April 1995 and landed at the 27th place. In the quest of improving his craft, he enrolled at the Mapua Graduate School taking up Master of Engineering in ECE degree where he finished with cumlaude distinction. An opportunity from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) thru the ESEP program, sent Daniel as a visiting scholar to the Electrical Engineering Department of the Ohio State University.

 

As of now, Daniel is busy functioning as the Head of the Computer Laboratory and a full-time faculty member of the School of EE-ECE-CoE. He is also a regular professional lecturer at the Mapua School of Graduate Studies, where he handles the Computer Fundamentals and Numerical Methods courses.
