Fuzzbutts

Like many in this world, we're the victims of "ferret math". We started out with two, nine-week old brother and sister Romper and Tinker. Then came Phoebe. Then Buckshot and Jasper. Then... Well, you get the picture.

Here's a few more pics of ferrets past and present, doing what ferrets do best (at least what can be caught with a still camera!)

This is Tinker, part of what we call "The Triumvirate", the first three ferrets we adopted. The ultimate alpha, whatever she's looking at, she's getting ready to steal it or bite it.

Here's the entire Triumvirate: Tinker, Romper, and Phoebe. This shot made our Christmas card a few years back.

Here's the same group moments later. Maybe this is better represents the average Christmas morning!

Some of the more recent arrivals to the house, looking, of course, cute and adorable. The top photo, clockwise from top: Katy, Dureena (named after the thief in J. Michael Stracyzinski's "Crusade"), Killconey (named after a ferret in Brian Jacques "Redwall"), and Tarot. The bottom photo, left to right: Lucky, Katy, Dureena, and Killconey.

Jasper got dumped in a local park and found when he crawled out of the bushes half-starved and walked up to the first person who came along. Never could figure out how people could treat animals like so much garbage. The story has a happy ending, since he had a healthy, happy life after that.

Loki was a sweetheart, but he never did live up to his name. He loved all people, but he was scared to death of every other ferret in the world. This shot is his usual mode if he was out with other ferrets.

Mace, named after the Badger Lord, Sunstripe the Mace, in Brian Jacques, "Outcast of Redwall", turned into our official ferret model for ferret products we put up for auction on Ebay. For more pictures of Mace modeling various products, click here.

Besides all the ferrets, we also have a dog, Tippy, a beagle/terrier mix. She's a great watchdog, but that isn't her only skill. She's also a talented Hollywood agent. Here she is on the phone to Jim Cameron, closing the deal to provide all the stuntferrets for "Titanic 2: The Sequel".

Tippy has a wonderful relationship with all her clients. Here she is convincing one of them that "...the Titanic sequel is going to make your career!"

A rare shot (with a ferret, at least). Our son, Teddy, with Romper actually asleep in his arms.

Behind every artist is a muse to urge him or her on. Tinker's mine. If I don't write great fiction, she bites my toes.

Here's a recent arrival to the house. Willy likes to lay about and watch the tube. The original couch potato ferret.
