Havena Belly-dance School is based in Maryborough, situated 270 kilometres north Of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The Havena Belly-dancers service a widespread area with performances, workshops and classes. ABOUT THE TEACHERS PRINCIPAL TEACHER:- Helene Coulter Havena Belly-dance School was founded in 1999 by Helene Coulter. Helene was the pioneer of Belly-dance in Maryborough introducing this inspiring dance form to many people who would not have otherwise had the opportunity to learn. Many of those who originally learned from Helene have now studied it further and have even opened their own dance schools. She has been dancing Middle Eastern Dance for over twelve years and has been teaching dance classes for seven years. She loves to choreograph dances and her dances are easy and fun to learn showing many of the styles associated with Middle Eastern dance. Her vast years of experience in teaching shows in the delivery of her dance classes which are lively, interesting and creative. Helene has trained over the years with many significant teachers of Middle Eastern Dance including:- Yosry Sharif, Mo Gedawwi, Aida Nour, Terezka, Shamira, Denise Enan, Devi Mamak, Nayima Hassan, Elenie Vlissmass-Smith, Maria Masselos, Leonie sukan, Tangelli, Academy of Middle Eastern Dance, Maria Sangiorgi and Jrisi Jusakos. Learning is a lifelong journey and Helene continues to do workshops with these teachers and more travelling to at least seven workshops a year. Her aim is to diversify her skills, improve her knowledge, network with other teachers and bring this newfound information back to her students.
