    Obviously this section of my site will deal with my most expensive mod to date...wheels!!!! Now it took me quite a while to decide on which wheel to get, after all there are so many good looking choices. What I ended up getting are the Ace Lolas, I settled for 17"x7.5" wheels rather then spring for the 18". My reasoning is this, Michigan roads suck 99.7234621% of the time and going with 18" wheels would have meant 40 series or lower rubber, leaving me with little or no protection against pothole damage.  At least with the 17" wheel I can fit 45 series rubber on it with out looking odd...plus buying tires for 17" wheels is cheaper then 18".

    My next decision were the tires to buy...this is very important, most people just say a tire is a tire but I beg to differ. There are many factors that go into the decision, road noise, ware ratting, wet traction...and so on. Normally I'm a huge fan of the Michelin Pilot series...actually that's what I've used on every other wheel I've owned. One big draw back to the Michelins, price, they really are quite expensive (for my application ~220-250 per wheel), so I started to look into other manufactures. After talking to the guys in my Audi club here in south east Michigan (www.groups.yahoo.com/group/dtw_audi) and posting on AudiWorld I was able to narrow it down to either the Pirelli PZero (directional) or the Yokahama AVS Sport (directional). Well I went to Discount Tire near my house and when I was placing my order the fact the Pirelli's were on back order made the decision really easy, Yokahama here I come =).

    So this is what I ended up with;

17x7.5 Ace Lola's with 225/45/17 Yokahama AVS Sports, and if I do say so myself they look wonderful on my car...here are some pictures!!!

A shot of the drivers rear showing both the old and new wheel

A close-up of the rear and yes I know I'm missing a lug, I jumped in before the guy had a chance to put it on!!! =)

   I thought I had more pictures from Discount Tire but I don't...hum if you go to the brake upgrade page you can see more shots of the Lola's =).
