This section kind of
ties in with my A4 vs. Guardrail story, you see with the damage that was done I
needed a new front end so I figured I may as well do something a little
different. Yes I know there are people out there who are thinking why not go
aftermarket? Well there are two good reasons for sticking with Audi OE parts;
one the insurance company will only use actual Audi equipment and two I actually
like the look of the S4. Yet others are going to accuse me of being an S4
want-a-be well to those folks...I'm not trying to be an S4 rather an A4 with a
good looking body kit, plus (for all you S4 owners) the most sincere form of
flattery is emulation. I did remove all of the S4 badges though, so it's not
like I'm advertising that I'm an S4 or anything, now that that's out of the way
on to the fun stuff.
Basically the entire
front is from an S4, the bumper, lights (xenon), the grills (upper and lower),
and the fog lights. I also installed the vented wheel liner on the drivers side
to increase the airflow over the intercooler on that side. There really isn't a
whole lot to say about this mod, as I didn't actually do any of the work,
AutoMetric's did. So on that note I'll just post some pictures of the finished
product.
This obviously is the drivers
side front, I took this right after I mounted my German plate (I bought
it of some guy in Germany off EBay) |
A nice head-on shot |
Here's a good shot, I was
actually getting a little artistic with the angle and whatnot, one
problem you've got to make sure your thumb is out of the frame =) |
Yet another shot, this time
it's a higher angle of the passenger side |
