DAKAWA EMPOWERMENT |

Dakawa's Entrepreneurial Training Programme helps self-motivated people develop themselves into income generating entrepreneurs. Between 1994 and 1996 Dakawa recruited 27 entrepreneurs who received training in one of four workshops: beading, weaving, textiles and linoprinting. Along with the artistic and craftwork training Dakawa also teaches skills in business management, administration and marketing. Today, those entrepreneurs have formed three independently registered businesses and are gathering and completing orders and generating income for themselves. Two new groups of entrepreneurs, 29 people, began their training in October 2000 in sewing and textiles. |
